This Week's News 3-3-17

February has come and gone already! Wow!  That just means the real spring weather is right around the corner!
Last week, the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades presented an all-school Black History Assembly.  Students researched information, learned speaking parts, and performed beautifully!  They learned about many important people from the past and present. Today, we culminated the month by viewing the motion picture "Hidden Figures."  It is a very dynamic and informative movie!  The students seemed to really enjoy and be attentive to the history of a period of time they were not around to witness. If you have not personally seen this movie, we would highly recommend it!
Also, congratulations to Ayush Bhattrai and Michael Medawis = 5th grade Students of the Month for February!
Next week:
Monday = 1/2 day for students.
Monday = Social Studies Test = complete the Study guide because it is an open note, but not open book, test.
Tuesday = Bingo for Books (free event) at East from 6:30-8:00pm.
Wednesday = RSVP for the Parent CAFE' McDonald's breakfast.
Friday = 7:45am Parent CAFE' in the gym; be sure to order food items by Wed.
Monday-Friday = return the yellow conference form; Parent Teacher Conferences are Mon. and Thurs. March 13 & 16.
Saturday = Battle of the Books at Grandville High School from 10:00-2:00pm. Good luck to both of our 5th and 6th grade teams!!!
Have a nice weekend, and as always, let us know if you have any questions.
