Mrs. Peterman teaches all the reading, writing, vocabulary, and grammar for both sections of 6th grade.  This is where students & parents can see daily assignments, links to content and any other general information about 6th grade ELA.

Reading: Read for 30 + minutes at home
Vocab./Writing: Define all 10 new vocab words and write a short story with a clear beginning, middle and end using all 10 new words.  Underline the vocab words in your story.  
This weeks vocab. words: absurd, anxious, combine, hearty, identical, myth, purchase, solo, thrifty, vivid
Math: minute to win-it, no homework
Social Studies: Year in Rap 2015 - current events review

Cookies and Photos with Santa at East 6:30 - 8:30
 
Christmas Party donations need to come in for tomorrow!  Our food part of the party will be at 11:00.

Writing: Family Holiday Tradition Essay - brainstorm a list of family traditions & pick one tradition that you can write a 3 paragraph essay on.  Due Friday
Vocabulary: with a partner create a Holiday rap using 5 of the 90 vocabulary words we have had this year.  Due Thursday 
Math: TenMarks - due tomorrow - long division
Spelling Bee: We have narrowed our class bee down to 12 students, we will identify the top five by Wednesday this week.  
Christmas class party on Friday - please bring in party donations anytime this week.

Social Studies: JA reflection - make sure you have 5 sentences per paragraph.  
Talking / off task tally sticky note signed and brought back tomorrow - Peterman's class only

12/7 Monday

Special: Art
ELA: Read for 30 + minutes at home and write a 3 sentence summary of what you read on your sticky note - due tomorrow
Flocabulary  - Sections D, E & F are due on Wednesday
Math - Practice A, Using Tables to Explore Ratios & Rates due Wednesday - Test on Thursday. 
 
Junior Achievement Blitz Day tomorrow all day!  Volunteers from Independent Bank will be coming to teach economics to our 6th graders.  

12/4 Friday

Flocabulary Quiz
Field Trip in the morning to DeVos Performance Hall to tour back stage.  
PBIS celebration for October and November - bounce house and a cookie

This year we are collecting Toys for Tots through the GHS Senior Executive Board. 
 
Please note that they are offering a visit & surprise delivery from Santa to the classroom that donates the most toys per building.
